Owner & Founder

Ginny is the owner and original founder of Sprout. Over many years, Ginny tinkered with the idea of a rural oasis that she could call home and share with others, building a supportive, inclusive community that could affect positive change. While working full time, pursuing a graduate degree, and raising two babies, she slogged through a business plan, and was successful in getting seed funding from the NC Conservation Fund, as a woman owned, operated, and incubated, agricultural education and experiential opportunity. The farm was purchased in 2018 and with the support of then farm manager Montana Keller, Sprout opened its doors in the Fall of that same year. With the exception of COVID, Sprout has thrived ever since.

In addition to driving Sprout, Ginny works full time at Princeton University as the Director of Discovery & Resource Sharing for the Ivy Plus Libraries Confederation. She also teaches as a community college instructor. Ginny handles the business operations of Sprout, including marketing, outreach, program management and partner engagement. She maintains the strategic vision for Sprout, working with various community partners to make it happen!

Sprout is a creative outlet that satisfies a long held desire to own and operate her own farm and business.

Her primary goal is to serve her community through value added programs and community support, and to pour her energies into a sensible and sustainable lifestyle.
